Are landlords responsible for pest control in Ontario?Here in Ontario, the Landlord and Tenant Board (or LTB) outlines that it is the responsibility of the landlord to: 1. Maintain the Rental Property which includes keeping it clean and taking action to control pests (like rodents and cockroaches).

To apply for an exterminator licence, you must: be at least 16 years old. complete and pass a ministry approved pesticide certification course within the last 12 months. How often should you do pest control?When it comes to regularly scheduled pest control, we suggest having your home treated once a quarter or every two to three months if you have a reason to. If you don't have any pests such as ants, bed bugs, cockroaches, centipedes, fleas, flies, mice, millipedes, midges, rats, spiders, silverfish, ticks or wasps then thank your lucky stars and keep up the good work at keeping them away.
